This course introduces Pancasila as the philosophical foundation of the Indonesian state, the national ideology, an ethical system, and a paradigm for life in society, the nation, and the state. Students examine the meaning, historical and scientific foundations, philosophical structure, values, norms, morality, and ideological functions of Pancasila.
The course also studies Pancasila within the constitutional system of the Republic of Indonesia, including the structure of government, the 1945 Constitution, the key ideas in its Preamble, the relationship between the Preamble and the body of the Constitution, and relevant constitutional provisions. Emphasis is placed on understanding how Pancasila values guide civic responsibility, national unity, ethical conduct, and public life.
